A & K Innovations was established on South East Queensland's Gold Coast with its' roots going back to 1985, as a facility to manufacture & refurbish components for the elevator industry. Since that time, the company has developed solutions for a wide range of interesting & diverse projects.

Platform Entry Gates for Scenic World, Katoomba on the worlds steepest railway.
The platform gates – 1 row of 22 gates at the top platform & 2 rows of 22 gates at the bottom platform are all computer controlled.
Operation of the gates can be performed by the train driver from inside his drivers cab, by the train controller from his control room, or by maintenance personnel directly from the control cabinets located underneath the platforms. The top platform gates can also be split into sections that open or close individually to suit the driver's needs.
Each controller has a touch screen panel that will pinpoint any fault to maintenance personnel that may occur within the myriad set of safety switches inbuilt for passenger protection of the highest standard.
The Railway experience descends 310 metres through a cliff-side tunnel, emerging into ancient rainforest at the Jamison Valley floor. Operating since 1945, the Scenic Railway has thrilled over 25 million passengers. |
